PwyH History and New Years Countdown at Genting

30th of December 2008, and I was sitting in front of my pc thinking, all the times we spent together since PwyH is formed, running around west Malaysia for tournaments and all. I started to realize that we never spend any special occasion together. So I decided to call up Marky, Jacky, Jovy, Gavin, and Hix to join me and my gf for New Years Countdown at Genting. It was a whole lot of fun and a day I'll never forget(for me atleast, I'm not sure about them =D). I noticed this blog doesn't have the history of PwyH, the following part below would be about History of PwyH. Before Team PwyH was formed, there was a club name "The Lil`family". The Lil`family AKA Little Family was founded by 4 founders i.e. Lil`Funny, Lil`Bunny, Lil`Campy and Lil`Rushy. If you had noticed the “Lil” initials in front of our nicks, they are a means of a Family, a club i.e. the “Little Family”. In the year 2004, there were more than 200 members in the club.

PwyH History

Team PwyH was founded in year 2003 by Lil`Funky’s brother AKA Lil`Funny. Lil`Funny was the Coach/Trainer/Driver/Sponsor and everything to team PwyH. He gave his commitment, his heart, his time, his soul to train us. PwyH's very first sponsor was Netclix Cyber Cafe owned by Lil`Funny. I recalled it took Lil`Funny more than 2 weeks just to lecture us that firepower is not everything and intelligence/mentality is much more important. At that time Lil`jovy was his favourite target practice. To prove his point, he asked everyone in the team to play against each other 1 vs 1 official map. Although it seemed pointless now but we learned that sometimes we can run, fight another time and use your mentality to kill an enemy. He encouraged us to discuss our mistakes after every match and stressed on teamwork, after all Counter-strike is a team-play game. Team members are required to practice1 vs 1 in aim_maps and the other two teammates stood behind them. The rules of the 1 vs 1 training was to kill the opponent by headshot, failure to do so will result with a slap on the head. That was pretty hilarious if you ask me :D. Training schedule was set, whoever missed the training will be punished by running 3 KM, ( i was laughing my ass off when i heard all this). The lines-up back then was Lil`Marky, Lil`Funky, Lil`Jacky, Lil`Jovy, and Lil`Tiggy, with this lines-up they entered the WCG Johor qualifiers sponsored by Netclix, and they managed to qualify with first runner-up placing. I still remember stories told by them back then, when they attended the Johor WCG qualifier. The competition was held in IT Mall Johor. It was the team first experience in the gaming scene. The team successfully climb their way up the ladder and found themselves playing on stage. The match was intense as we were playing on opponents home-ground. Add to the fuss, everytime a pwyh team member killed by an enemy, the crowd of nearly 200 people cheered. During the match, when we have won the first 4 rounds we are convinced to win more rounds. On end of the 4th round. Suddenly Funky shouted aloud "TRASH THEM 13-0!!!”. We turned to look at each other with much doubt, hands shaking, balls dropping =). Anyway PwyH lost that match being the first-runner up for the WCG JOHOR qualifier. Funky told me back then they used note book to remember plans. All the teams have their Equipment plugs in, Team PwyH did the same with additional notebook on the side, each player would play according to what was written on the notebook.Sadly after the Johor WCG qualifiers Lil`Tiggy moved on with his life and left the CS-Scene, making them 1 player short. They started to play Counter-Strike online, jio-ing matches from MIRC's counterstrike.sg, with haste they found their last player, Lil`tecky formally known as teCNetiuM.

Team PwyH 2007

The lines-up after that would be Lil`Marky, Lil`Funky, Lil`Jacky, Lil`Jovy, Lil`tecky. During that time the weakest player in the team was me, Lil`tecky, because I was very new to Counter-Strike. With guidance from Marky, Funky, Jacky, and Jovy, I managed to catch up but still no where near their standard. Back then after training we would sit down at the mamak for hours(and i mean hours) talking about our mistakes. When finally we our own driving license and vehicle, we traveled around West Malaysia to join tournaments. You can see many teams where they disband after a tournament or after some arguement after the match, but this doesn't happen with team PwyH, when we quarrel it will only bring us closer to each other. We do not bear grudges, we do not give up, we make up with each other and continue playing and trying to be the best. Mutual understanding was built among us, we understand each other, and most of all we cared about each other. For me, Lil`tecky, I can say that the best time of PwyH would be the Kedah trip =).

Team PwyH @ Kedah Cyber Games

Not long after the Melacca Cyber Games, we found out about the Kedah Cyber Games, so we talked to the sponsor and decided to travel down to Kedah for the tournament. Plus the prize money there was very attractive $.$ =). Thanks to Lil`Funky we get to drive down with Honda City, =D we stopped by in between for toilet breaks and had alot of fun. We were surprised to see Team Hybrid and DIV there, we thought no one would be that crazy to drive down there. All the starting matches was easy until the day before Semi-Finals. This trip drew us even closer to each other, so close that something happened =D. I dunno any of you remember this :D..

1 day before the Semi-Finals, we wrestled in the hotel room, well if any of you knew our teammates you would know who initiated it. Lil`Funky started to do some wrestling moves on Marky, then he asked for backup, without hesitation I, tecky jumped on Funky, bystanders like Jovy and Jacky were dragged into the fight. Then out of no where Jacky video recorded it. Everything was fun, luckily we didn't break any of our fingers or parts that will affect our Counter-Strike match tomorrow =D. When we were all done, we were all bruised and sore because of the slapping and stunning. On the way to the tournament the next day, we hit a motorcycle. It was a minor accident, no one was hurt, just a little dent. After that we headed off for our semi-finals, we managed to beat Team Hybrid for the very first time, and advanced into the finals against Team DIV for the grand prize. Unfortunately we were exhausted after the match with Hybrid, there wasn't much spirit during the Finals, we lost to Team DIV. We were still very happy and proud to be the first runner-up. Then we traveled back home, along the way we were so freaking happy that we never actually slept, everyone was like talking and laughing very hard, until Tanjung Malim all of a sudden traffic jam on the highway, we were supposed to arrive at KL around 9 p.m but end up 11 p.m because of the traffic jam. By that time it was my turn to drive, instead of talking to me, all 4 of them feel asleep =.= .


Team PwyH . Whitebox

After the Kedah trip, we all continued training for the WCG 2007, attending as many tournaments as possible to keep our rhythm going. I still remember the last qualifier before the the National WCG, it was held at Seremban. 1 of the old teams appeared at the qualifier, FFH (fighter from hell), we managed to beat N.O(Natural ones) to climb up the ladder to finals against FFH. How unfortunate, we lost to FFH. We were all very disappointed but at the mean time we were thinking that we still have another shot in beating them in the national WCG, therefore we still had our hopes up. Not long after the qualifier, one of our co-founder, Lil`Funky was having some financial crisis, therefore he decided to go inactive and started working. We respected his decision and let him go, then we recruited Defari into our team to play the WCG 2007. We did alright, we managed to get into top 8. Things kinda went on after WCG, Lil`Jovy went on to pursuit his education and went inactive too. We were struggling to find last 2 players for the moment, but we didn't care during that time because it was end of 2007. From then on, Team PwyH was not the same, players coming in and out, having problems just to get a solid main 5 like before. I hope that we are able to get a solid main 5. There it is, the history of PwyH. I will always treasure all the good times that we had when we were teammates, I hope they will too. I would like to thank Lil`Tiggy and Lil`Funky for starting off with Team PwyH, without both of you, Team PwyH would not be as it is now.

Sorry about the history and New Year's countdown post together. I'm kinda lazy to blog 2 post, so just squeeze them all together in one post =D. 2009 will be a new year for Team PwyH.
